Turncoat Justin Amash Reveals Plan to Lead Anti-Trump Exodus from the GOP: ‘This Can Be Done’
Rep. Justin Amash (I-MI) remains desperate to grab mainstream media headlines as he plots a possible presidential run in 2020 in order to sabotage Donald Trump.
He received glowing coverage in Rolling Stone on Tuesday, with the extreme leftist magazine referring to him as “the last Republican in America.”
“My gratification comes from being true to the principles that I speak about,” Amash told the liberal reporter. “At the end of the day, if I feel like I stuck to my principles, I go home happy.”
Amash’s principles include voting rights for illegal aliens, taxpayer-funded surgeries for transgender military personnel, and refusing to defund Planned Parenthood. The Rolling Stone is happy to masquerade as if these principles are somehow authentically Republican for the purpose of their disingenuous narrative.
“I want to show people back in Washington that this can be done,” Amash said about betraying his former party. “I think my colleagues expect that if you leave your party you’re in big trouble.”
He hopes that he can engineer a mass exodus from the GOP in order to hand the country back to the Democrats, and told the reporter that a presidential run very well may be in the works.
Amash holds a particular level of disdain toward his former colleagues in the House Freedom Caucus, who have emerged as President Trump’s most ardent defenders against the ongoing impeachment witch hunt against him.
“I used to feel like I had more people who were willing to stand up for the right thing,” Amash says. “In recent years and especially in recent months, people have capitulated and allowed the system to consume them.”
Amash has led the charge on impeachment, staking out a position that is far to the Left of even House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) on the issue.
We swear an oath to support and defend the Constitution, not an oath to support and defend Donald Trump’s abuse of the office of the presidency.

This president will be in power for only a short time, but excusing his misbehavior will forever tarnish your name. To my Republican colleagues: Step outside your media and social bubble. History will not look kindly on disingenuous, frivolous, and false defenses of this man.

He turned his back on the GOP and the constituents who elected him as a Republican to support the President on July 4.
“Today, I am declaring my independence and leaving the Republican Party,” Amash wrote at the time.
“No matter your circumstance, I’m asking you to join me in rejecting the partisan loyalties and rhetoric that divide and dehumanize us. I’m asking you to believe that we can do better than this two-party system — and to work toward it. If we continue to take America for granted, we will lose it,” he added.
Amash hopes that his antics will be enough to sabotage President Trump’s re-election chances, at least in his home state of Michigan, which will be an important battleground next year. The libertine legislator has emerged as the Benedict Arnold of our time.
