U.S. Trade Deficit Soars to Record High in March

The U.S. trade deficit soared to a record high in March as the economic sanctions against Russia hurt the American economy more than the Russians.

Imports rose 10.3 percent in March from $318.62 billion in the previous month to $351.52 billion while exports rose 5.6 percent in March from $228.82 billion in the previous month to $241.72 billion. The gap in trading goods and services grew an astronomical 22.3 percent to $109.8 billion, according to data from the U.S. Commerce Department.

Russia’s trade surplus has grown to 11 year highs amidst the economic sanctions that were supposed to cripple the nation’s economy amidst their ongoing conflict with Ukraine. The Ruble has rebounded as well after tumbling following the announcement of the sanctions. The U.S. Empire is being shown as a paper tiger.

The Wall Street elites are making excuses for the news as they hope to keep their giant financial Ponzi Scheme going a little longer.

“What the huge demand for imported goods does show is that America may have more of a demand problem than a supply problem,” said Christopher Rupkey, chief economist at FWDBONDS in New York. 

“As long as import demand keeps setting records, it shows the Fed has to keep pushing interest rates up and up because American consumers and businesses are not done buying yet and strong demand keeps the inflation fires burning,” Rupkey added.

“On Saturday night, for the first time in over two years, official Washington gathered for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

Unsurprisingly, President Joe Biden used his time at the podium to take shots at Republicans, particularly those in Congress who have been critical of his handling of the economy.

“I know I’ve been called an economic populist,” Biden said. “Well, let me tell you something: I’m not going to apologize for fighting to make sure working families get a fair shake.”

Of course, Biden also made sure to mock Trump during his speech, calling the former president a “horrible plague.”

For example, Trevor Noah, the host of “The Daily Show,” was the headliner for the event. At one point Noah said to Biden: “Since you’ve come into office, things are really looking up. Gas is up, rent is up, food is up!”

Then Biden laughs and claps. As if making life harder for everyday Americans is something to joke about – which sounds especially out-of-touch when coming from a room filled with elites.”
