United States Supreme Court Plans on Ruling On Abortion Pill Access
The United States Supreme Court is set to decide on the degree of availability of a popular abortion pill. It has agreed to hear the Biden regime’s appeal of a ruling that would ban mail-order prescriptions and mandate in-person doctor visits.
This case comes after the Supreme Court’s landmark decision in 2022, which overturned the landmark Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion at the federal level.
Currently, pill-induced abortion is the most common way for aborting children. The drug mifepristone has turned into a boogieman for the anti-abortion Right, with this current Supreme Court case dealing with this drug and its accessibility.
Furthermore, this case will determine if federal judges have the power to overrule the Food and Drug Administration on the effectiveness and safety of pharmaceuticals and medical devices. A federal appeals court recently issued a ruling that hamstrung moves made by the FDA to increase the drug’s availability. The appeals court argued that the agency did not appreciate genuine safety concerns with respect to this abortion pill.
The Biden regime said it believes the case represents the first time a court has ever restricted a drug that the FDA previously approved based on that reasoning.
“FDA’s actions were supported by an exhaustive review of a record including dozens of scientific studies and decades of safe use of mifepristone by millions of women in the United States and around the world,” US Solicitor General Elizabeth Prelogar, the Biden regime’s leading Supreme Court lawyer, said in the appeal.
On top of that, the court will hear a similar appeal from mifepristone’s manufacturer, Danco Laboratories LLC. A group of anti-abortion doctors and organizations is challenging mifepristone’s availability.
Abortion is ultimately a state level issue. The feds should not be involved in this matter altogether.
Nevertheless, a federal government that not only promotes abortion but makes it readily accessible is one that’s promoting a culture of death. Rational people would do everything possible to ensure that the US federal government does not go this route.
Instead, a federalist route should be used to handle this matter. In turn, red states should become nations of pro-life policies
