University of Washington Broke State Law By Hiring Black Candidate Via Affirmative Action Over More Deserving White Candidate

According to a report by the University of Washington’’s Complaint Investigation & Resolution Office, the university’s Department of Psychology broke state law by unnecessarily emphasizing the applicants’ race in a hiring decision earlier in 2023.

This report discovered that the department changed its hiring process “to provide disparate opportunities” for a black job applicant who possessed worse credentials than  white and Asian candidates.

On paper, the University of Washington bans discrimination using racial and sexual criteria. On top of that, the decision broke a state law prohibiting the use of affirmative action in the state.

Members of the hiring committee confessed to university  investigators that they were subject to significant pressure to re-rank candidates for the faculty position on the basis of their race. One committee member feared a “bloodbath” occurring if the committee did not offer the candidate a faculty position.

“The UW is committed to diversity — and committed to equal opportunity in hiring — while upholding University policy and state and federal law,” spokesperson Victor Balta declared in a statement provided to The College Fix this week. “Our students and our state benefit from a faculty whose knowledge and understanding represent the diversity of Washington state.”

Balta said the psychology department “inappropriately considered” candidates’ races in its hiring process earlier this year – even after being told “such considerations are inappropriate.”

Indeed, the Left has never concerned itself with the law. These parasites are pursuing raw power, consequences be damned. Even when policies such as affirmative action are ostensibly damned, the Left will find ways to circumvent these restrictions. They’re a relentless bunch and for that reason the Right must be prepared to engage in prolonged fights with them if they want to restore some semblance of order in the US.
