US Capitol Placed on Lockdown After Two Police Officers Reportedly Shot
The US Capitol has been placed on lockdown following reports of a shooting outside of the building, in which two Capitol Police officers and a third individual were shot.
A car reportedly smashed into the security barriers at the Capitol before shots were fired.
Three people have been transported to a local hospital, with no reports of any arrests made as of Friday afternoon.

A helicopter landed on the east side of the Capitol grounds, in an sight that is highly unusual for the building.

At this time, all Capitol buildings are locked down on account of an “external security threat” and those inside have been urged to stay away from windows. The situation is developing, and Big League Politics is closely monitoring for further updates.
UPDATE:
The US Capitol Police confirmed reports of a ramming attack on Friday morning, not yet specifying as to the occurrence of a shooting outside the Capitol.
