Vanessa Tyson Publicly Discussed Her Trauma Months Ago, Says Fairfax’s Attack On Her ‘Despicable’

Vanessa Tyson, who accuses Virginia Democrat lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault, discussed her trauma months ago on Twitter during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process. Tyson is now represented by the legal team that represented Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh’s accuser.
Fairfax is trying to discredit Tyson by pointing to a 2007 video in which Tyson discussed her experience surviving incest but did not mention Fairfax.
“In that video I did not talk about being assaulted by Mr. Fairfax. This, of course, is not proof that he did not assault me. His reliance on this video to say the opposite is despicable and an offense to sexual assault survivors everywhere,” Tyson stated Wednesday.
Fairfax reportedly said “Fuck that bitch,” referring to Tyson, in a private meeting, according to NBC News.
Tyson expressed months ago that she was struggling with trauma from sexual assault, without mentioning Fairfax.
Let me be very clear here: If you use PHYSICAL FORCE against another human being, and FORCE that person to perform a sex act, it’s NOT CONSENSUAL. #MeToo #StandWithSurvivors

To say the last few weeks have been triggering would be an understatement. Sending love to all the survivors out there whose rapists/assailants called it “consensual” and whose society privileges an old boys club over all else. #MeToo #StandWithSurvivors

TELL ME ABOUT IT. "The battle over Brett Kavanaugh has ended. But the pain his hearing triggered has not" https://t.co/ooTRrrIjnp #MeToo #StandWithSurvivors
