Vanessa Tyson Releases Statement Accusing Justin Fairfax of Sexual Assault

Stanford fellow Vanessa Tyson came forward with a statement Wednesday accusing Virginia Democrat lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax of sexual assault at the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston, while Fairfax was working as John Edwards’ “body man” on the John Kerry campaign.

The Washington Post knew about the allegation but previously spiked the story. Tyson’s allegation came to light after Big League Politics published a private Facebook post which Tyson gave her friend in Richmond, Virginia permission to share around.

Tyson is represented by Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s legal team. (READ: Fairfax Attacks Accuser, Points To Fact That He’s Not Mentioned in Her Video Describing Incest Survival).

Tyson describes the “painful memories, bringing back feelings of grief, shame, and anger that stemmed from an incident with Mr. Fairfax that occurred in July 2004 during the Democratic National Convention in Boston.”
