VIDEO: Seattle City Councilwoman Demands for Police Chief to Fire White Officers to Protect ‘BIPOC’ Cops

Seattle City Councilmember Lisa Herbold, an open socialist who is leading the movement to defund the police, wants officers to be removed from the force because they are white.

She can be seen ranting about her proposal in a video that is quickly going viral on Twitter.

“In the case that some layoffs are necessary, of the many very worse case scenarios that the chief poses, one is the firing of BIPOC officers,” Herbold stated.

BIPOC is an Orwellian neologism created by radical cultural marxists to describe “black, indigenous, and people of color.” Herbold wants the police chief to protect BIPOC officers and target white officers due to their skin color.

“I want to state very clearly that the chief is empowered under the Public Safety Civil Service Commission, Rule 15, to implement layoffs in a way that is called out of order. This means she does not have to fire the newest officers hired first,” she said.

She wants the chief to conduct layoffs out of order, and target white people for dismissal in order to keep minorities employed, even if they have significantly less experience and training than their white counterparts.

“She is making the argument to the public now that firing BIPOC members of the Seattle Police Department would be harmful,” Herbold said of the police chief.

“I’m confident that she can make this argument and get this permission. I think that worse case scenario picture is really in the chief’s hands, when she decides the priorities that she wants to set, should layoffs be necessary,” Herbold concluded.

Legal scholar Jonathan Turley has attacked the legality of Herbold’s dubious proposal.

“This of course would be even more egregious since Herbold wants to fire white officers due to their race alone,” Turley writes. “They would not be accused of any wrongdoing or failure. The problem is their race.”

The nation of CHAZ/CHOP has finally been retaken by Seattle police, after left-wing protesters going to the house of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan spurred the city into action.

Reporter Andy Ngo noted that police were able to retake the land in only minutes, and the anarchists did not put up much if any resistance. This raises questions of why police did not retake the zone weeks ago.

Durkan issued an executive order on Tuesday regarding the “reported life safety, public health and property issues” that has resulted from the constant mayhem within the CHAZ/CHOP. At least 13 people were arrested while police were retaking the area.

“Due to ongoing violence and public safety issues in the East Precinct/Cal Anderson Park area, Mayor Jenny Durkan has issued an executive order to vacate the area. Seattle police will be in the area this morning enforcing the Mayor’s order,” the Seattle Police Department wrote in a tweet.

“Commanders have issued a dispersal order in accordance with the Mayor’s emergency order. All protesters are being asked to leave the immediate area within eight minutes. Safe exit is to the South and West,” law enforcement said.

“This order, and our police response, comes after weeks of violence in and around the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest zone, including four shootings, resulting in multiple injuries and the deaths of two teenagers,” Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said in a statement.

Before the left-wing mob came to her door, Durkan had no problem with allowing CHAZ/CHOP to fester. The death and destruction happened on her watch, and she had no problem allowing it to happen until it personally affected her safety.

The entire country will look like Seattle or something even worse if the plague of Leftism is not stopped quickly.
