Vladimir Putin Says China-Russia Relations are Strengthening Despite Chaos On Global Stage

On November 29, 2022, while the Fourth Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum was convening, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a message that was read out loud by Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin.
“Despite the complicated international situation, comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction ties between Russia and China continue to develop. The energy industry remains one of the key and most rapidly evolving areas of our economic cooperation,” Putin said during his message.
Per the Russian leader, China and Russia have recently cobbled together a series of agreements that establish a high degree of bilateral relations in the coal, energy, gas, and oil sectors. In addition, both countries have agreed to cooperate with projects on China’s nuclear power plants and the production of liquified natural gas.
Putin highlighted how the Russian-Chinese Energy Business Forum is tightening cooperation between China and Russia by allowing for regular dialogue between government officials, prominent industrial corporations, banking institutions, and leading experts.
“The most important area of the forum’s activities is the creation of an investment map of Russian-Chinese energy cooperation. The development of this unique information and analytical platform undoubtedly opens up new opportunities for the implementation of mutually beneficial commercial initiatives,” Putin concluded.
China and Russia coming together on economic, geopolitical, and military is perhaps one of the more shocking developments in international affairs of the past 30 years.
We shouldn’t forget that the United States was able to deftly exploit the Sino-Soviet split of the 1960s and use it to make China become a bitter rival of the Soviets and effectively accelerate the end of the US vs. Soviet Union Cold War.
However, the US has completely bungled its foreign relations with China and Russia by pushing those two countries together by pursuing a hawkish foreign policy of dual containment against them. In effect, US foreign policy in the post-Cold War era has meme’d a Eurasian alliance into existence.
This is what happens when you have complete fanatics running affairs in the country.
