Warrior’s Head Coach Steve Kerr Says Kyle Rittenhouse’s Acquittal is Putting America on a Dangerous Path
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr believes that the acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse is putting America on the wrong path.
On November 19, 2021, Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted on charges of murder, attempted, murder, and reckless endangerment after he used a firearm in self-defense against 3 leftist agitators during the Kenosha riots on August 25, 2020.
Rittenhouse killed two of the agitators and wounded another during the unrest that swept across Kenosha following the police shooting of Jacob Blake.
In Kerr’s view, the verdict was “really scary and concerning.”
“We are seemingly all right with a teenager’s right to take an AR-15 to an area where there is civil unrest. That’s really scary and concerning,” Kerr said to reporters on November 19, according to a report by Reuters.
Kerr continued, declaring that the verdict “poses great risk going forward if we continue to go down this path of open carry, and states determining that people, even underage people, can have weapons of war. This is America, and we’re treading down a dangerous path.”
Regardless, the jury correctly acquitted Rittenhouse based on the evidence supplied to them, which clearly showed leftist activists assaulting him and putting Rittenhouse’s life in grave danger.
The NBA Social Justice Coalition even had the gall to release a statement on November 19 defending the right to “peaceful protests” while attacking “vigilantism”, despite all the facts showing that the Kenosha riots were anything but peaceful.
Kerr’s comments are rich coming from a league (the NBA) that’s deeply involved with the Chinese market and says nothing about the Chinese Communist Party — a real tyranny. You will hear not a peep from Kerr about China’s litany of human rights abuses. But that’s how things go in the upside down world that is 2021.
Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors deserve a lot of praise for their performance as a sports franchise. Since 2015, the Warriors have won 3 NBA championships. As of now, the Warriors hold a 15-2 record as the top seed in the NBA’s Western conference.
Nevertheless, this is the classic case of someone, Steve Kerr in this instance, stepping outside of their respective field and opining on matters they don’t even know much about.
Kerr should stick to coaching basketball and not worry about politics. He adds nothing constructive to our current political discourse, which is already toxic to begin with.
