WATCH: Epic Montage of Fake News Calling for Trump’s Impeachment After False BuzzFeed Report

The media doesn’t pick a side.

After a Thursday night BuzzFeed story falsely claimed that President Donald J. Trump ordered former personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to investigators, the mainstream press threw a fit, running with the absurd claim before Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s office debunked the story in a rare public statement.

This was the moment that the Trump-hating press had been waiting for, and it flew off the handle, demanding Trump’s immediate impeachment.

According to a Daily Caller report, the words “impeach,” “impeachable,” or “impeachment” wer used nearly 200 times on cable news on Friday, until Mueller took the wind out of the press’ sails.

“CNN mentioned impeachment 82 times while MSNBC mentioned it a whopping 97 times,” the report said.

The fallout for the already-discredited mainstream press has been immense, and justifiably so. While the nets all called for Trump’s impeachment, they also made sure to note that they had not independently confirmed the BuzzFeed report. Why waste time on petty details?
