WATCH: Law Enforcement Evict Rioters Defacing Robert E. Lee Statue in Richmond

Law enforcement officers ejected a mob of left-wing rioters who were defacing a statue of Robert E. Lee in Richmond, Virginia. The police utilized tear gas and pepper spray to evict the disruptive crowd of rioters, some of whom have been agitating to destroy the historic statue.

Watch the intense footage here:

Left-wing cultural rioters have defaced the statue with political graffiti in recent days, filling the statue of the Confederate general with “All Cops Are B******” acronyms and other slogans.

Riotous demonstrators can be heard maintaining that the statue vandalism is a “peaceful protest,” wholly ignoring the systematic defacement and criminal damage inflicted upon the statue by leftist mobs.

Controversial Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, a state executive with a complicated racial history himself, is seeking to remove the historic statue, which was placed in Richmond in 1890. However, a legal challenge to keep the statue of the southern general has ensured its preservation, citing a commitment from the commonwealth of Virginia to affectionately maintain the statue when it was installed.

Litigation on the preservation of the statue will likely continue, ensuring that future operations on the part of leftists and organized ANTIFA thugs to destroy the icon of southern history will continue.
