WATCH: Ted and Heidi Cruz Chased Out of Dinner By Unhinged Leftists

Published

on

Monday night Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was heckled out of a Washington, D.C. restaurant by protesters who are opposed to Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, while they could be heard chanting, “We believe survivors!”

Cruz and his wife were attempting to dine at Fiola, a high-end Italian restaurant just a few hundred yards from the U.S. Capitol, when they were approached by a small crowd of hecklers who began shouting at the couple.

One woman addresses Cruz directly, saying: “I know that you’re very close friends with Mr. Kavanaugh, but do you believe survivors, sir? We believe survivors!”

Another shouted: “Vote no on Kavanaugh! ‘Cancel Kavanaugh for women’s rights.”

A Twitter account by the name of Smash Racism DC (@SmashRacismDC) posted clips documenting the incident on Monday night in a series of tweets:

“BREAKING. Activists just chased out of a fancy Washington DC restaurant, chanting “We Believe Survivors!” Cruz has been friends with creep Kavanaugh for 20 years. Now Cruz is on judiciary committee hearing his testimony. Fascists not welcome!

The videos show Cruz being confronted by a female who tells Cruz that she is a sexual assault survivor. While the woman screams at Cruz, the senator keeps his cool, puts on his jacket and begins to try and clear a path for him and his wife to exit the restaurant.

“Do you believe survivors?” she asks. “Senator, I have a right to know what your position is on Brett Kavanaugh.”

“God bless you, ma’am,” Cruz responds.

@SmashRacismDC tweeted: “Sexual assault survivor questioned Cruz during disruption at fancy Washington DC restaurant. Cruz ignores her.

The hecklers continued yelling at Cruz and his wife as they were making their way to the exit door, with one protester telling Cruz, “Beto is way hotter than you, dude,” referencing Beto O’Rourke, the congressman challenging Cruz in the Senate race in Texas.

A clip recently made the rounds of O’Rourke playing air drums, and singing to the Who song ‘Baba O’Riley’ while in a Whataburger drive through:

Once Cruz and his wife had exited the restaurant, staff asked the group of hecklers to also leave.

Kyle Morris, (@RealKyleMorris) noted that this was the kind of behavior that Maxine Waters champions in a tweet on Monday night:

“BREAKING: Sen. is treated with disrespect as he is chased out of a restaurant by radical leftists. This type of behavior is championed by Maxine Waters.”

Survivors of sexual abuse also gathered outside of Cruz’s office in Austin, Texas, earlier on Monday, to show support for Deborah Ramirez and Christine Blasey Ford, who have both accused Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct over 30 years ago.

“We want our voices heard. We want fairness to all,” protester Carol Abbassi told NBC affiliate KXAN.

Although Cruz was not initially behind the Kavanaugh nomination to the Supreme Court, he now fully supports the nominee.

Trump has always defended Kavanaugh and on Monday night tweeted, “The Democrats are working hard to destroy a wonderful man, and a man who has the potential to be one of our greatest Supreme Court Justices ever, with an array of False Accusations the likes of which have never been seen before!”
