WATCH: U.S. Navy Shares Training Video On ‘Pronouns’

As America’s military continuously involves itself with Pride Month and LGBTQ+ talking points like pronouns, China is laughing at us.

For example, in a newly released military training video made for the United States Navy, two engineers at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport provide a lesson on gender pronouns – WATCH:

“Using the right pronouns is a simple way to affirm someone’s identity,” Jony Rozon, one of the engineers says in the video posted online. “It is a signal of acceptance and respect.”

According to the video, acceptance and respect must be used to ensure a safe space for everybody. So, as Rozon explains, “instead of saying something like ‘Hey guys,’ you can say, ‘Hey everybody.’

The video also says that including pronouns in emails and introducing oneself with pronouns are some of the steps sailors can take to mitigate the risk of misgendering someone. Which is considered a terrible thing to do – especially when intentional.

“You correct yourself and move on, or you accept the correction and move on,” says Conchy Vasquez, the other engineer in the video, talking about what happens if a sailor were to accidentally misgender someone.

“The most important thing I can tell you is, do not put the burden of making you feel good about your mistake on the person you just misgendered,” Vasquez added. “Some people may be going through the process of discovery, and they are not ready yet to tell you what their pronouns are, and that’s OK.”

So while the U.S. Navy continues to create more low-budget educational content like this for its sailors during Pride Month, China just launched its third aircraft carrier.

According to NPR: “Beijing launched a new-generation aircraft carrier Friday, the first such ship to be both designed and built in China, in a milestone as it seeks to extend the range and power of its navy.”

Moreover, the aircraft is “equipped with the latest weaponry and aircraft-launch technology, the Type 003 ship’s capabilities are thought to rival those of Western carriers, as Beijing seeks to turn its navy, already the world’s largest, into a multi-carrier force.”

China can now design and build its own aircraft carriers without the help of outside countries. All while America double downs on gender language and LGBTQ inclusiveness in celebration of Pride. What could possibly go wrong? And when did our country’s priorities get so screwed up?
