‘What My First Time Felt Like’: David Hogg Sends Suggestive Voter Mobilization Email

This was a weird email to receive

A Tuesday email from the anti-gun group March For Our Lives, featuring David Hogg as the sender, used a double-entendre pitch to encourage their supporters to vote.

The email, using the subject line “What my first time felt like,” doesn’t talk about voting until the end of the email. Prior to that point it seems as though Hogg is talking about losing his virginity.

‘I don’t know about you, but I didn’t know what to expect for my first time. But I did it, and it was great. Plus everyone clapped afterwards…

It turns out your first time is something you never really forget. Zoe Kravitz – hers was in the back of a firehouse. And Chris Evans, his first time with a woman was in 2016.”

It finally references voting halfway through the email.

“Seriously though – whether you’re voting for the first time, or the 50th, we need you out there on Election Day. Time is running out to get EVERYONE registered and ready to vote before November 6.”

The email has two links, one that goes to a page for readers to register to vote, the other to a Twitter video with activists talking about their first time voting.

March For Our Lives is an anti-gun group formed in the wake of the Valentines Day shooting in Parkland, Florida.

The group was initially formed with the goal of hosting an anti-gun march in Washington, D.C. That march occured on March 24th, and was attended by upwards of 200,000 people.

Since then, their more fleshed out goals include “Universal background checks,” and “Eliminate absurd restrictions on the ATF.”

With the midterm elections coming up, the group’s focus has apparently shifted to voter outreach.
