White House Pressed Facebook To Censor Tucker Carlson Over Vaccine Comments, Documents Show

According to newly released documents, the White House pressed Facebook to censor Fox News host Tucker Carlson. 

The basis for their reasoning? Carlson said “vaccines” “don’t work.”

In what is eerily similar to many of the other scandalous uncoverings the American public has learned from the trickling out Twitter files, the government has – yet again – urged a big tech giant to silence opinions they don’t agree with.

Here are screenshots of the email between the White House and an unidentified Facebook employee shared by Louisiana’s Attorney General Jeff Landry:

“Since we’ve been on the phone – the top post about vaccines today is [T]ucker Carlson saying they don’t work. Yesterday it was Tomi Lehren [sic] saying she won’t take one,” White House Director of Digital Strategy Rob Flaherty reportedly said in an April 14, 2021 email to an unidentified Facebook employee, which was posted on Twitter by Landry…

“This is exactly why I want to know what ‘Reduction’ actually looks like – if ‘reduction’ means ‘pumping our most vaccine hesitant audience with [T]ucker Carlson saying it doesn’t work’ then… I’m not sure it’s reduction!” Flaherty continued in the document released by Landry.

In response, the unidentified Facebook employee reportedly told Flaherty that they were “running this down now,” according to the document posted by Landry.

Nothing about this exchange is surprising. Especially after how much has been exposed and confirmed- thanks to the Twitter Files – about the government’s entanglements with big tech.

Not only is the White House actively pushing for censorship of its political opponents, but they are doing so in a back-door round-about way that undermines much of what it often promotes including free speech, the fight against misinformation, and holding big corporations accountable.

As reported last month, Elon Musk is using the Twitter Files to showcase the heinous amount of corruption within his newly acquired organization’s woke left-wing management class.

Matt Taibbi, for instance, has been one voice demonstrating how Twitter went to obscene lengths to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story in the days leading up to the 2020 presidential election.

“Twitter took extraordinary steps to suppress the story, removing links and posting warnings that it may be ‘unsafe.’ They even blocked its transmission via direct message, a tool hitherto reserved for extreme cases, e.g. child pornography,” Taibbi shared.

Other juicy tidbits from the Twitter files show how staffers, like former Twitter head of legal, policy and trust, Vijaya Gadde, and former Twitter trust and safety chief Yoel Roth, had seized control from then-CEO Jack Dorsey in order to institute a Democrat-led censorship regime. 

Musk, who now serves as CEO, fired Gadde and forced Roth out as part of his hostile takeover of the tech giant. Without that move, many examples like Tucker Carlson would have likely remained unknown by the American public.
