WOW: Joe Biden Denied Holy Communion by South Carolina Priest for Pro-Abortion Beliefs
Former Vice President Joe Biden was denied the Eucharist on Sunday morning while attending mass in Florence, SC over his pro-abortion beliefs.
Father Robert E. Morey of Saint Anthony Catholic Church refused to allow the Democratic Party presidential front-runner to participate in the holy sacrament of communion when Biden appeared at the church’s 9am mass on Sunday.
“Sadly, this past Sunday, I had to refuse Holy Communion to former Vice President Joe Biden,” Father Morey said to the Florence Morning News in an email.
“Holy Communion signifies we are one with God, each other and the Church. Our actions should reflect that. Any public figure who advocates for abortion places himself or herself outside of Church teaching,” he added.
The sacrament of the Eucharist occurs when unleavened bread and wine become the body and blood of Jesus Christ through a process called transubstantiation. It is a re-creation of the last supper of Jesus Christ and his 13 apostles that occurs at every Catholic mass proceeding.
“I will keep Mr. Biden in my prayers,” Father Morey said.
Holy communion is one of seven sacraments ordained by the Roman Catholic Church. The others are baptism, reconciliation, confirmation, marriage, anointing of the sick, and holy orders. Biden is seeking to become the second Catholic president in US history after John F. Kennedy, but his bona fides are in doubt because of his support for abortion.
Biden, who has been a life-time Catholic, has betrayed his Catholic faith in order to advance his career in the rabidly anti-life Democratic Party. He has evolved over the years on the issue of abortion in order to maintain within his party’s favor, turning his back on his long-standing religious beliefs.
“If I believe health care is a right, as I do, I can no longer support an amendment that makes that right dependent on someone’s zip code,” Biden said to oppose red states that have enacted strict restrictions on abortion in recent months.
Biden is a fervent supporter of Roe v. Wade (1973), and has changed his position to oppose the Hyde Amendment. Biden voted affirmative on the Hyde Amendment as a Senator to ban federal funding on abortion with only exceptions allowed for rape, incest or when the mother’s life is in danger.
Biden’s flip-flop indicates that he wants taxpayer subsidies used to facilitate abortion-on-demand, a ghastly policy position that is directly at odds with Catholic teachings.
“There was sufficient monies and circumstances where women were able to exercise that right, women of color, poor women,” Biden said. “It was not under attack,” he said. “As it is now.”
“I can’t justify leaving millions of women without access to the care they need and the ability to exercise their constitutionally protected right,” Biden said.
“Happy to see Joe Biden embrace what we have long known to be true: Hyde blocks people—particularly women of color and women with low incomes—from accessing safe, legal abortion care,” said Leana Wen, who works as president of Planned Parenthood, celebrating Biden’s anti-Catholic capitulation.
Biden will say or do anything to become president, but his lack of integrity will not come without consequences. Father Morey’s principled gesture may remind Biden that there will be repercussions in this life as well as the next for standing against life.
