YouTube Continues Censoring News With Respect to Nashville Shooter Manifesto

Throughout November YouTube has been taking down videos about the Nashville mass shooter’s manifesto. Another video that talked about the manifesto and Facebook’s censorship of it was also removed.
The video was posted by the website Not the Bee on November 7, 2023. In the video, host Ashley St. Clair mentioned how the leaked manifesto was being “censored by Big Tech overlord Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook,.”
She criticized Facebook for invoking its rules on “violence and incitement” to suppress the manifesto. She also took authorities to task for withholding the manifesto for months. Throughout the video, she showed and read the leaked pages from the manifesto, and talked about the manifesto.
However, YouTube wasted no time and censored the video, arguing that it violated the platform’s rules on “violent criminal organizations.”
On top of that, YouTube rejected Not the Bee’s appeal to bring back the video.
YouTube and Facebook’s censorship of individuals talking about the Nashville shooter’s manifesto came after conservative media personality Steven Crowder published three leaked pages from the manifesto on November 6.
Big Tech’s censorship of the Nashville mass shooter manifesto has received criticism from the likes of X/Twitter owner Elon Musk and video platform Rumble. In response to this censorship campaign, Musk declared that YouTube had “lost their minds”
In Rumble’s case, it supported Crowder’s story about the Nashville shooter’s manifesto after YouTube censored it.
There’s clearly a concerted effort by Big Tech to censor the most sensitive issues of our epoch. Thankfully, there are platforms such as Rumble and X which nominally promote free speech in a time when foundational free speech rights are under threat.
This highlights the importance of having counter elites on our side. It’s the only way to fight back against the pernicious ruling class that lords over us.
