On September 5, 2024, a Sylacauga City Council meeting abruptly ended after just 20 minutes following questions from several constituents about the influx of Haitian migrant invaders to the city.
Council President Tiffany Nix ended the meeting after several residents made inquiries about the legal status of these Haitian migrants and what kind of an impact they were having on crime and housing in the city.
Sylacauga is a city of slightly over 12,000 people that is 64% white. Any kind of foreign migrant influx will be quite noticeable in such a small town.
After three residents asked questions about the Haitian migrants during the meeting, Nix ended the meeting. “I’m going to cut it off,” she proclaimed.
One concerned resident, inquired “who is heading up watching over this situation?”
Councilman Ashton Fowler claimed that he was first made aware of immigrants in Sylacauga when he saw them while attending church. He knows people are concerned, but he believes that immigrants can’t be immediately assumed to be committing crimes.
“We found out when everybody found out,” Fowler stated.
“The first time I saw them, they came in our church. They wanted to come to Sunday School and church with us. That’s the first time I knew they were in town, and then there was three, then six, then eight. The ones at church with me are great people. They wanted to come to church, haven’t asked for a thing, worship and go home.”
“I want to welcome anyone to Sylacauga that wants to come to Sylacauga,” Nix said in defense of importing foreigners to the small town in Alabama. “If you’re here stimulating our economy, thank you. That’s how I feel about it. If people aren’t breaking the law, they’re not causing any problems, I don’t…I don’t see what the issue is.”
One concerned resident stated, “the attitude of the council throughout this process is entirely unacceptable.”
“Do we know where the individuals we’re discussing are coming from?” he questioned. “Where their point of origin is? Because you’re treating them like lawful U.S. citizens, which they are not.”
Nix pounced on this question as a means of shutting down the entire conversation altogether.. “OK, so I’m going to cut it off…again, we have no reason to launch an investigation or to treat people differently because of how they look.”
“These individuals came here from Haiti,” the man claimed. “Haiti is a failed state. Their president was assassinated in 2021. There’s no way the State Department can vet these individuals…”
Haitian migrants are beginning to pop up nationwide thanks to the Biden regime’s parole program. The Biden regime’s CHNV parole program allows migrants from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela to apply to reside in the US with a sponsor.
To clear the air on this matter, on August 26, Sylacauga Mayor Jim Heigl published a statement declaring that the city is not a “sanctuary” city and is not taking any significant steps to “pursue that option in the future.”
“As many of you know, current Sylacauga housing would not accommodate large influxes of population whether they are immigrant or citizens,” the statement noted. “Year-to-year we struggle to accommodate new teachers and the general influx of local workers to house in Sylacauga, any additional increases in population would make those accommodations even difficult to attain.”
The statement aded, “As with most tightknit small towns, new faces out among our stores and restaurants are easily identifiable. Sylacauga has recently had an influx of legal immigrants come into the area. Employment was the primary draw for these individuals when obtaining their visas for legal immigration to the area. As you go about your regular routines of living in Sylacauga, please be sure to extend our small town hospitality to these new faces.”
The fact of the matter is that no city in America — big or small – is safe from the scourge of mass migration. The unholy alliance that open Borders Inc has forged with the feds poses an existential threat to the nation’s democratic integrity. Open borders NGOs are ensuring that migrant invaders are being airdropped into Middle America.
This is clearly a humiliation ritual designed to economically displace and eventually demographic replace white Americans. Debating the opponents of open borders is virtually pointless. They’re bad actors who will only be brought in line through the use of prudential state force.
