East Palestine Residents Report Rise of Strange Illnesses Following Train Crash

By Jose Nino

Increasing numbers of residents of East Palestine, Ohio have complained about the rise of strange health problems after a notorious train derailment in the Ohio town that emitted toxic chemicals into the air, ground, and water.

East Palestine resident Wade Lovett said to the New York Post on February 25, 2023 that he’s had trouble with his breathing since the derailment.

“Doctors say I definitely have the chemicals in me but there’s no one in town who can run the toxicological tests to find out which ones they are,” Lovett said.

“My voice sounds like Mickey Mouse. My normal voice is low. It’s hard to breathe, especially at night,” he said. “My chest hurts so much at night I feel like I’m drowning. I cough up phlegm a lot. I lost my job because the doctor won’t release me to go to work.”

Shelby Walker, who lives close to the derailment site, said she’s also suffered health issues. Her family members have also experienced a variety of symptoms, she told the paper.

“The bad smell comes and goes,” Walker stated. “Yesterday was the first day in probably three or four days that I could smell anything. I lost my smell and my sense of taste. I had an eye infection in both eyes. I was having respiratory issues like I was just out of breath. Other members of my family have had eye infections and strep throat.”

“The cleanup crew drives past us at night and won’t even look at us. It’s like we don’t exist. No one has reached out to us or told us anything,” she continued.

Jack Phillips of The Epoch Times noted that East Palestine residents were informed they could go back to their homes on February 8 following the controlled release and burning of vinyl chloride,”which emitted a massive cloud into the sky.” Since this incident transpired, there have been local reports of health issues, in addition to reports of thousands of animals dying in the area.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) officials arrived in East Palestine on February 18 to look into potential health risks connected to the train derailment, per a White House fact sheet. Those CDC officials were joined by both Environmental Protection Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency officials.

On top of that, researchers at Carnegie Mellon and Texas A&M noted that 9 out of roughly 50 chemicals that the EPA claimed were present on the train, which Norfolk Southern operated, are at abnormally high levels of concentration. He continued by noting that “if these levels continue, they may be of health concern.”

Phillips detailed what chemicals were found at abnormally high levels:

Chemicals that were seen at higher-than-normal levels include vinyl chloride, benzene, and naphthalene, according to their analysis. But the researchers flagged acrolein—which has been used in chemical warfare—as one of particular concern.

Indeed, East Palestine was a disaster of epic proportions that shows the level of institutional decay taking place in the US at the moment. Unfortunately, policymakers are more obsessed with maintaining a global empire, staffing key positions in government and the private sector with people who don’t qualify for them, and maintaining open borders — all policy decisions that put a strain on infrastructure and/or divert resources that would otherwise be invested in domestic infrastructure.

At the end of the day, America’s collapse will be brought about by subversive actors from within not without. And those are members of its dysfunctional political class. A regime change is needed to bring back normalcy to American economic affairs.
