Retired Admiral Mike Mullen is advising the Biden administration to negotiate peace between Russia and Ukraine as World War 3 becomes a real possibility.
Mullen, who was the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, is saying that Biden should back off on the reckless talk and get to working on diplomacy.
“President Biden’s language — we’re about at the top of the language scale, if you will. And I think we need to back off that a little bit and do everything we possibly can to try to get to the table to resolve this thing,” Mullen said.
Mullen believes that it should be at the top of the priorities list for Secretary of State Antony Blinken to bring Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the negotiations table.
“As is typical in any war, it’s gotta end and usually there are negotiations associated with that. The sooner the better, as far as I’m concerned,” Mullen stated, adding that Putin is a “cornered animal” who he believes is a legitimate threat to use nuclear weapons.
