A washed-up actor who once starred in the cinematic extravaganza “Borat” was busted by a gun store owner in Los Angeles after entering the gun shop under false pretenses.
“He comes in, off the bat you can see in the video I’m looking like, this guy does not look like a Hungarian immigrant, tight ass leather pants, a beard, it just didn’t fit,” Warrior One Guns & Ammo owner Norris Sweidan told the local Fox News station in Los Angeles. “The moment his words came out of his mouth I was like this guy is full of s***.”
Cohen and his camera crew told Sweidan that Cohen was a Hungarian immigrant trying to purchase a gun for a documentary. According to Sweidan, Cohen’s lousy fake accent gave him away as a fraud. The event took place in February.
Sweidan believes that Cohen actually wanted to use footage for a segment in his Showtime pilot program called “Who is America?” The first episode of the show recently aired, depicting gun advocates promoting arming children, which of course cast them in a negative light. Cohen wore an Israeli disguise in that segment.
“Once I knew it was Borat, we already know his game and his bull****, so we knew he’s here to make a mockery, and of what? Gun owners? The gun business, gun shops,” Sweidan said.
When Cohen was made, he quickly exited the store, leaving his crew behind.
“We’re talking to the people they don’t wanna give us an answer, we basically told them to get the f*** out, you guys are all full of s***, have a great day, get out,” Sweidan said.
Sweidan’s store is in the process of filming a show called “Down the Barrel,” and he believes Cohen targeted him for that reason.
