Google Software Engineer Charged With Assault, Resisting Arrest in Portland Riots

By Richard Moorhead

A man who lists himself as a software engineer for Google was arrested and charged with four misdemeanors during the Portland riots early Sunday morning, including assault and resisting arrest.

32-year old Zachary Trudo identifies himself as a software engineer for Google on his Linkedin page. He previously worked for Nike and Intel, and graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Computer Science. He currently works in Google’s Seattle facilities.

Trudo’s charges are assault, attempting escape, resisting arrest, and interfering with a peace officer. They’re all misdemeanors, and he’s been released without bond.

There’s no reason to believe his alleged criminal activities during some of the most violent riots in the 21st century are going to impact his employment status with the Silicon Valley tech monopoly.
