A video has emerged of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in blackface, making it the third instance that has emerged of the liberal social justice warrior engaging in the racist practice since Wednesday.
Global News Canada broke the scoop of Trudeau pictured on video in black face from the early 1990s. In the video, he can be seen waving his hands and making offensive, stereotypical gestures.
“Even though we’ve moved forward in significant ways as a government, what I did, the choices I made, hurt people — hurt people who thought I was an ally,” Trudeau said at a press conference earlier today.
“I am an ally, but this is something that obviously I deeply regret and I never should have done,” he added.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is not willing to let Trudeau off the hook for his pattern of racist displays, and does not accept the authenticity of his apologies.
“Canadians might have been able to accept his apology if he had been truthful and open, if he hadn’t based that apology on a lie,” Scheer said.
“But he was specifically asked if there were other instances where he engaged in this type of racist behavior and he indicated that there was only one other incident and now we know there are at least three,” he added.
Scheer noted that the Conservative Party was alerted to the videos before they made their way to the press.
“I can say that there was an individual that was concerned by this and brought it to our campaign, and our campaign turned it over to a news outlet for verification and left it in their hands,” Scheer said.
The first instance of Trudeau in blackface, published by Time magazine, featured Trudeau celebrating during an “Arabian Nights” party held by the West Point Grey Academy in 2001. He had worked as a teacher for the private school in British Columbia at the time.
The second instance revealed to the public featured Trudeau singing Day-O while in blackface during a high school talent show. The Liberal Party verified that the pictures were authentic, as Trudeau’s blackface repertoire puts even Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to shame.
The scandal could not have come at a worse time for Trudeau, whose Liberal Party was already narrowly trailing the Conservative Party in the polls by one percent before anyone knew of Trudeau’s racial improprieties. The Liberal Party’s numbers could plunge in lieu of this embarrassing debacle.
The Canadian public was already growing sick of Trudeau’s far-left leadership as PM. His approval rating slipped to 40 percent earlier in the year due in large part to his role in the SNC-Lavalin scandal. The Canadian ethics commissioner found that Trudeau violated the Conflict of Interest Act after he allegedly strong-armed former justice minister Jody Wilson-Raybould into helping the large Quebec engineering firm avoid criminal prosecution on charges for bribery and fraud.
The vote to determine control of the Canadian government is scheduled to take place on Oct. 21, and who knows how many more times Trudeau will be shown in blackface before then. Trudeau’s tomfoolery may result in huge electoral consequences for Canadian liberals.
