Lousiana Governor Brings Back Forced Masking

By Darian Douraghy

Louisiana on Monday brought back forced masking for all indoor locations, including schools and colleges, with this time’s excuse for further draconian abuse on the American people being the threat of the ‘delta variant.’

The temporary indoor statewide mask mandate will stay in place until at least September 1, but may be extended if the bureaucratic establishment considers it necessary.

Democrat Governor John Bel Edwards’ press release largely blamed the surge on the citizens of the state, saying “driven largely by Louisiana’s insufficient vaccination rate and the spread of the highly transmissible Delta variant, COVID-19 cases in the state have grown exponentially.”

Gov. Bel Edwards announced the mandate, which goes into effect on Wednesday, less than three months after he lifted a similar previous mandate.

“It has never been more clear that we are in an unchecked COVID surge that, in addition to threatening the health and wellbeing of many Louisianans, also threatens the capacity of our hospitals and medical facilities to deliver care to their patients. That is simply unacceptable, and after reviewing new data from the CDC, speaking with public health advisors, and hearing from hospital leadership and the business community, I am reinstating Louisiana’s statewide mask mandate indoors, including in schools to protect our children who are too young to be vaccinated and our teachers and staff,” Gov. Edwards said.

Edwards also made a point to assign blame on those who choose to not take the experimental shot, saying “I am pleading with unvaccinated Louisianans to get their shot as soon as they can to protect themselves. We can end this nightmare, but it is going to take all of us working together to do it.”

Also Monday, officials from Edwards’ office said in a written statement that another member of the governor’s staff has tested positive for COVID-19. Two other staffers from the office also tested positive last week.

“The Governor’s office has a high rate of fully vaccinated staff including these staffers who were vaccinated against COVID earlier this year,” the statement said. “While breakthrough cases such as these do happen, they typically do not result in serious illness.”

Louisianans and Americans across the country are growing increasingly weary of the draconian restrictions, with many threatening that they will no longer comply with any of them. One thing is for certain: None of the draconian COVID-19 related restrictions or constitutional violations will stop until the American people take their country back by force.
