Although Ronna McDaniel was re-elected to serve as chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC) on January 27, 2023, fewer than 20% of Republican voters wanted to re-elect Ronna McDaniel as chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC).
Per a Rasmussen poll, 15% of likely Republican voters supported McDaniel’s re-election bid. 30% of GOP voters supported pro-Trump businessman Mike Lindell, 20% supported attorney Harmeet Dhillon, 15% didn’t back any of the three candidates, and 21% were undecided.
32% of all likely voters have a favorable view of McDaniel, whereas 42% hold an unfavorable view and 26% are unsure. Among Republican voters, 43% hold a favorable view of McDaniel, while 35% hold an unfavorable view of her and 22% are unsure.
43% of Republican voters believe the RNC has been more effective in electing their candidates, whereas 26% of GOP voters believe the DNC has been more effective. In addition, 21% believe the DNC and RNC have been equally effective with regards to electing their candidates.
Among likely voters, 19% support Dhillon for RNC chair, 18% support Lindell, and 12% back McDaniel’s reelection. By contrast, 31% didn’t support any of the eligible candidates vying for the RNC chair and 20% were unsure.
While McDaniel came out victorious, the GOP will still be plagued by many issues such as its long-held attachment to a neoconservative foreign policy, political correctness, mass migration, and race pandering. Under her leadership, the GOP has not adjusted to the populist realities of present-day politics.
Nationalists will need to regroup and start devising plans to oust McDaniel the next go-round. If GOP leadership does not become more nationalist, we can only expect more of the same in terms of pro-establishment public policy and political shenanigans.
