POLL: Majority of Voters Want Democratic Primary Challengers for the 2024 Presidential Election

By Jose Nino

Less than 50% of voters want President Joe Bidden to run for re-election in 2024 and two-thirds believe Biden should face challengers in the Democratic primary, according to a Rasmussen poll

39% of likely United States voters believe Biden should run for re-election as president in 2024, whereas 48% believe Biden shouldn’t run for re-election. An additional 13% are unsure.

66% of voters believe that if Biden runs for re-election in 2024 other Democrats should face off against him in the Democratic presidential primary, whereas just 21% are against Democratic rivals for Biden. An additional 13% are unsure.

In the first week of April, environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr filed paperwork to launch his 2024 presidential presidential campaign. 46% of voters back RFK Jr.’s campaign, which includes 18% who strongly support him. 31% are against Kennedy’s presidential campaign, which includes 20% who strongly oppose him, while another 23% remain undecided.

Moreover, 52% of Democratic voters support RFK Jr.’s presidential aspirations, which includes 25% who strongly support his presidential bid. Kennedy also enjoys solid backing from 40% of Republicans and 44% of independent voters.

62% of Democrats believe Biden should run again for the presidency in 2024. Similarly, 62% of Democratic voters believe other Democrats should go against Biden in the presidential primaries. By contrast, 22% of Republicans and 29% of independent voters believe Biden should pursue another presidential bid in 2024. Both Republicans (71%) and independent voters (64%) believe other Democrats should go up against Biden in the primaries.

37% of white voters, 46% of black voters, and 39% of other non-black minorities believe Biden should run again for the presidency in 2024. As for race, 58% of black voters, 52% of non-black minorities, and 41% of white voters somewhat support RFK Jr.’s presidential bid.

When it comes to the socio-economic status of Kennedy supporters, those making over $100,000 annually tend to be his strongest supporters.

Biden’s reckless economic policies, decision to leave the border wide open, and his disastrous foreign policy in Ukraine are actions that merit him a primary challenger, and a right-wing nationalist opponent, for that matter, in the general election. He must be relieved of the burden of holding higher office for his policy dereliction.
