A Whiskey Bar in Portland, Oregon, is offering a reward of “free whiskey for life,” if one of their patrons punches White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon.
A photo of the the receipt was first tweeted by Forbes writer Maury Brown, who celebrated the call for violence. He has since deleted the tweet after it began to go viral.
The bar, called Paydirt, is now printing the offer on the bottom of their receipts.
Imagine the outrage if someone on the right solicited violence against anyone in the Obama administration, they would immediately be branded domestic right-wing terrorists. Somehow, seemingly endless calls for violence against the Trump administration are not only acceptable among the left, it is celebrated.
Located at 2724 NE Pacific, Paydirt previously donated a portion of their inauguration day sales to Planned Parenthood.
“Inauguration Day is not going to be easy. We’ll be donating a portion of ALL sales this Friday to Planned Parenthood. Come drink with us,” the bar advertised on their Twitter account.
On election night, the bar offered a free champagne toast to the “future Madame President.”
“Election Night at Paydirt: Free champagne toast to our future Madame President. And if that doesn’t happen? Whiskey!” Paydirt advertised.
The bar also featured a Trump pinata and a cocktail special that they named the “Chillary Clinton,” made with Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain, Blackberry Muir, Lemon, and Sugar.
The establishment frequently uses anti-Trump imagery in their advertisements, clearly unconcerned about alienating people with differing political views.
According to US law, threatening public officials other than the president is a Class C or D felony, usually carrying maximum penalties of 5 or 10 years under 18 U.S.C. § 875, 18 U.S.C. § 876 and other statutes. It is also against the law to solicit violence against public officials.
The email account listed on the Paydirt website was inactive when we reached out to the bar for comment. Phone calls to the establishment were not answered by the time of publishing.
UPDATE: Both the bar and it’s owner, Ezra Caraeff, have locked their Twitter accounts.
Caraeff, who also owns The Old Gold bar, appears to find the situation quite comical, however.
“Guess I’m going to have to open my next bar in Guantanamo Bay. Cons: Torture. Pros: Cuban Rum.” Caraeff tweeted on Sunday evening.
On Friday night, prior to the outrage over the receipts, Caraeff had also tweeted, “Nothing will turn you into a libertarian asshole faster than opening a business in the city of Portland right now.”
Caraeff ‘s Old Gold Bar also includes political messaging on their receipts. In February, the bar had “Is it Okay to Punch a Nazi? Yes.”
Caraeff quoted the above in a tweet and added an Emily Post quote which reads, “Etiquette is the science of living. It embraces everything. It is ethics. It is honor.”
The bar owner did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

They sound like people that like deray and the blm hoodlums.
I hate Portland
Still better than San Francisco
Sound like a fun bunch, as long as you're able to handle the hatred.
The owner of this bar should be killed.
no sir, the owner of this bar should be arrested, charged and jailed, as in accordance with the following law;

It is a crime in every state to offer to pay someone to commit a crime and I'm pretty sure it is a federal offense as well, applicable here since Bannon is not from Oregon. That means no cooperation is needed from left-weaponized Oregon politicians and law enforcement. Jeff Sessions could prosecute these dirtbags all on his own. Get on it dude.
It kind of is against federal laws

Pretty sure only beta cucks would worry about a joke like this.
Does reporting on it equal worrying about it? Does commenting on it equal worrying about it? Do you know anyone who's worried about it?
actually, this person has broken federal laws, and should be charged as such

There are people on the Left stating in print and mouthing out loud about committing crimes, such as killing President Trump or punching people out. Nobody does anything because it comes from the Left. Let a person say something about harming a Demon-crat and that person will be hunted down.
The Left wants civil discourse and I for one am ready to meet force with greater force.
Bring it dude! No one is scared of some small dicked bigot troll. I would happily remove that smug confidence from your ugly white trash face.
Name time and place and I will see if I can give you the opportunity to try
Sounds like a call to commit violence for political outcome...it's called "terrorism".
and this is the law that is broken

the sentence for incitement to terrorism is as follows
