Following the shooting in Parkland, Florida that left 17 people dead, anti-gun hysteria has reached a fever pitch. Using the tragedy as leverage, many have fully flaunted their support for total gun bans.
A candidate for Sheriff in Buncombe County, North Carolina has taken things to a new extreme. While speaking to supporters of the Michael Bloomberg-funded Moms Demand Action anti-gun group, R. Daryl Fisher laid out his opposition to the Second Amendment very clearly.
While laying out his positions on guns, he stated that he supports raising the minimum age to purchase a firearm to 21, banning high capacity magazines, bump stocks, and “assault weapons.”
After laying that out, he mocked people who oppose his measures, saying “You’ve heard people say, you’ll have to pry my gun from my cold, dead hands.” In response, Fisher laughed and said “ok.”
After making his statement, he received thunderous applause. Many of the people in the gun control movement would say that they support the Second Amendment, and only want reasonable restrictions. The rhetoric espoused at this meeting proves that’s a lie.
