A Democrat candidate for state senate in Delaware was caught on private surveillance footage removing her opponent’s campaign literature from a constituent’s home, and replacing it with her own.
Republican Kevin Hensley was door-knocking when he realized no one was present at the home, so he left a pamphlet on the constituent’s door. Hours later, Democrat Monique Johns can be seen removing Hensley’s literature and replacing it with her own.
According CBS, homeowner Randy J. Smith shared the surveillance footage on his Facebook page, causing an uproar in the district.
“It was wrong and I never should have done it,” Johns reportedly said. “This was a lapse of judgement that I humbly regret. Please forgive me.”
