Samaritan’s Purse, a charitable Christian organization that helps the poor and sick all over the world, has setup a temporary tent hopsital in New York City.
Most see this as an all around positive, but not radical LGBTQ activists and their allies.
Some Leftists in New York have complained of the organization’s traditional Christian beliefs on sexuality. They claim to believe that Samaritan’s Purse might treat LGBTQ patients with less consideration or care.
I said immediately to my team that we had to find out exactly what was happening. Was there going to be an approach that was truly consistent with the values [of] New York City?
We’re going to send people over from [my] office to monitor. I’m very concerned to make sure this is done right. But if it is done right, of course, we need all the help we can get.
Samaritan’s Purse and its workers have done everything from risking their lives to serve Ebola patients in Africa to helping after tornadoes here in the states. They have also already been dealing with coronavirus in Italy, giving them much needed experience.
They are exactly who you want to show up in a time like this. The combination of experience, compassion, and dedication they have is very hard to match.
And no, they do not discrimate based on sexuality. They never have and there is no indication they ever will.
To suggest that they need to be monitored or that New York should be worried about their presense is not only unwarranted, it’s insulting.
DeBlasio is taking advantage of Samaritan’s Purse because he knows they, unlike him, are not utter degenerates. He knows that Samaritan’s Purse will do everything they can to help, despite knowing they are hated by the Mayor and his ilk.
This whole incident shows that Bill DeBlasio is a weak effiminate man who is more concerned with his public imagine than saving lives. He will accept the help, but insult those helpers, all while pretending he has displayed some sort of virtue.
This is outright bigotry, disguised with smooth talk.
