Democrat leaders are proving to the nation that they can’t handle a taste of their own medicine.
They are all for illegal immigration until migrants show up in their backyard, which can be seen in New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ latest lash-out against the influx of individuals.
Ironically, Adams in particular was someone who routinely promised to turn New York into a “sanctuary city” when he was running for election.
On Sunday morning – after only the second busload of migrants showed up in his city – the Mayor called out Texas Governor Greg Abbott for busing migrants across the country.
“This is horrific when you think about what [Abbott] is doing,” Adams said during a press conference. “New York is a city that has always represented democratic values. Showing our values. That’s what we’re doing today.”
“It is unimaginable what the governor of Texas has done,” he claimed. “When you think about this country, a country that has always been open to those who are fleeing persecution and other intolerable conditions.”
“We’ve always welcomed that. And this governor is not doing that in Texas,” he added. “But we are going to set the right message and the right tone of being here for these families.”
Abbott, though many originally criticized his cross-county migrant busing initiative, has stood firm against all the backlash he’s faced from Democrat lawmakers.
Somewhat mocking Adams, Abbott claimed that “New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city.”
“I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief,” Abbott teased.
Adams has been growing frustrated by the number of migrant buses arriving on the east coast in recent weeks and even warned in late July “our schools are going to be impacted. Our healthcare system is going to be impacted. Our infrastructure is going to be impacted.”
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser has also been outspoken on this issue, going as far as to call for activating the national guard to handle the influx of illegal migrants flooding her city.
Comments like these from Adams and Bowser would have been deemed dangerous xenophobia just a few years ago. Which just goes to show how far the corporate press is willing to go to protect the looming radical left-wing agenda that is plaguing American cities today.
Love it or hate it, the Abbott-Ducey initiative is turning out to be more than just a publicity stunt.
