Liberal talk show host Bill Maher excoriated the symptoms of American decline in a segment on his HBO show Friday, pointing out that the American societal system has decayed to the point of severe disability.
While Maher made a passing allusion to ‘Q’ conspiracy fantasists, most of his segment targeted left-wing social justice advocates who fixate on renaming American statues and institutions, and lowering standards for perceived victimized groups.

“Nothing ever moves in this impacted colon of a country.
We see a problem and we ignore it, lie about it, fight about it, endlessly litigate it, sunset clause it, and then write a bill about it-where a half-a**** solution doesn’t kick in for ten years.
China sees a problem and they fix it. They build a dam. We debate what to rename it.”
The 21st century has witnessed the shortcomings of western liberal democracies, often beset by seemingly ceaseless political feuding. In the meantime, China has cornered international infrastructure development, and pharmaceutical innovation, with its own education system free from the drain of ‘woke’ identity-fixation and left-wing social activism.
“We’re not losing to China. We lost. The returns just haven’t come in yet.”
Maher also pointed to the increasing lack of ambition among US youth, while Chinese students are aggressively urged to embrace challenging careers in the sciences and technology. School systems in blue states and cities are increasingly discarding the notion of rewarding merit, likening such a traditional American concept to “racism.”
Conservatives content to blame every problem present within US society on supposed insidious Chinese influence would do well to examine some of the efficiencies of Chinese society, especially how the Chinese model contrasts with an approach of victim politics and political correctness.
