BREAKING: Monkeypox Declared ‘National Health Emergency’ In The United States

By Bo Banks

JUST IN – The Biden administration has declared monkeypox a national health emergency in the United States.

“We are prepared to take our response to the next level in addressing this virus and we urge every American to take monkeypox seriously,” Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra said during a briefing on Thursday.

Per NPR: “A public health emergency can trigger grant funding and open up more resources for various aspects of a federal response.”

In other words, Becerra can now grant funding and open up more resources for a federal response. This new declaration will also allow the Secretary “to enter into contracts for treatments and other necessary medical supplies and equipment, as well as support emergency hospital services.”

This national health emergency will last for the next 90 days, however, Becerra may extend that time frame for a longer period if he wants to. Remember 14 days to slow the spread?

Florida has already denounced the emergency declaration from the Biden administration entirely.

This announcement was not unexpected, especially considering the World Health Organization recently declared monkeypox a “global health emergency.”

At the time, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus explained that men engaging in homosexual behavior are responsible for the vast majority of monkeypox transmission.

“For the moment this is an outbreak that is concentrated among men who have sex with men, especially those with multiple sexual partners,” Tedros explained. “That means that this is an outbreak that can be stopped with the right strategies in the right groups.”

Now, it appears the organization is quickly walking back those claims. Even though most conservatives are already seeing through this lie.

To gain control over the narrative, the WHO has proactively called on social media platforms and news organizations to counter so-called monkeypox misinformation through national regulations.

“The stigma and discrimination can be as dangerous as any virus and can fuel the outbreak,” Ghebreyesus said. “As we have seen with COVID-19, misinformation and disinformation can spread rapidly online.”

“So we call on all social media platforms, tech companies, and news organizations to work with us to prevent and counter harmful information,” he added.

As Tedros admitted in the past, the monkeypox virus primarily spreads amongst “men who have sex with men.” But instead of shutting down gay bars and places where orgies are held – similar to how the WHO reacted towards churches and schools after the launch of COVID-19 – these people are focusing on shutting down internet discourse.

This is a developing story. We will share more as new information becomes available.
