Trump-Hating Robert De Niro Could Lose Half of $500 Million Fortune to Ex-Wife

By Peter D'Abrosca

A Trump-hating actor who recently split with his wife could lose a huge amount of money in divorce court, according to Thursday reports.

“Robert De Niro got hit with a real summer blockbuster in court Thursday, when lawyers for his estranged wife demanded half of his ‘$500 million’ fortune — despite a 2004 prenup that his side insists limits her to a $6 million apartment, $500,000 cash and $1 million a year in alimony,” Page Six said.

De Niro is known for his vile anti-Trump rhetoric, which he put on full display at last year’s Tony Awards. He recently called it quits for the second time with Grace Hightower, whom he remarried in 2004 after first divorcing in 1999.

Page Six said a prenup agreement is the source of hotly contested debate in the divorce proceedings.

“De Niro contends that the prenup sets strict limits on her take in a divorce,” the report said. “Hightower is solely entitled to $6.5 million in cash and property, his side contends, plus annual alimony of $1 million and half the value of a second apartment. But her side insists the prenup’s language additionally entitles her to half of what the “Goodfellas” star has made during the remarriage.”

De Niro, aside from being an actor and producer, has amassed part of his fortune as a restauranteur. He owns a large stake in the Nobu sushi chain and the swanky Tribeca Grill in New York City.
