An attendee at a town hall for Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.) used his opportunity to speak to bash America’s most notorious conspiracy theory network.
“If CNN is in this house, you need to take a lesson from her. This is what you call a real town hall meeting,” the man said. “All that mess that CNN be doing is all fake. They already got people out in the audience already picked who they want to ask a question. It ain’t going down like that here, so – so CNN need to take a lesson of this.”
The town hall was organized in a grassroots fashion, and was streamed on C-SPAN. CNN, known mostly for purveying the Russian “collusion” conspiracy theory, faced scrutiny over its town hall meetings after a Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student accused the network of scripting an entire town hall after deadly the shooting at the school on Feb. 14, 2018. The network denied the accusation.
Former Democratic National Committee chairwoman Donna Brazile admitted to leaking CNN town hall topics to then-presidential candidate Hillary R. Clinton in 2016. Brazile was rewarded for that behavior with a job at Fox News.
