Trump Tweets: I turned down Time’s Man of the Year
President Donald J. Trump Tweeted Friday that he would not accept the distinction of being the selected as Time magazine’s most significant person of 2017.

Time magazine responded less than three hours later.
The President is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. TIME does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.

Time magazine is part of the same company, Time-Warner, that owns CNN, AOL and the old Time-Life family of magazines, such as “People,” as well as the cable channel Home Box Office, DC Comics and the Warner Brothers movie studio.
