41% of American Voters Still See Crime Rising Nationwide

According to a Rasmussen poll, 41% of American adults believe crime has increased in their community over the last year. Just 14% believe crime in their community has fallen, whereas 38% believe crime has roughly remained the same over the last year. 

Just 15% of Democrat voters, 13% of Republican voters, and 14% of independent voters indicated that crime fell in their respective communities in the last year.  50% of Republican voters, 37% of Democrat voters, and 38% of independent voters believe crime has increased in their communities. 

For 52% of likely voters, too many criminals being let loose is a bigger problem than excessive amounts of innocent people being arrested, a a view that only 32% of likely voters hold. An additional 16% are unsure. 

With respect to Democrats, 44% of them believe the biggest problem with the American justice system is that too many innocent people are arrested. By contrast, 37% of Democrat voters believe too many criminals have been set free. 

In contrast, 71% of Republican voters indicated that the problem is that too many criminals are allowed to run loose. Among independent voters, 51% believe too many criminals are let loose and 29% believe too many innocent people are being unjustly arrested. 

42% of white voters, 35% of black voters and 43% of non-black minorities believe crime has been rising in their respective communities over the past year. 14% of white voters, 18% of black voters and 13% of non-black minorities believe crime has fallen in the past year. 39% of white voters, 36% of black voters, and 37% of non-black minorities believe the level of crime taking place in their community has remained roughly the same.

47% of private sector workers, 39% of government employees, and 37% of retirees indicated crime in their community has climbed upwards over the last year. 

When it comes to salary earners, individuals making over $200,000 are more likely to believe it is a bigger problem for American law enforcement and legal system that far too many innocent people are unjustly arrested. 

Crime is on the rise in America. And it’s not a random occurrence. It’s the product of the ruling class’s open borders regime and lax crime policies being implemented nationwide. This allows for criminals to pray on innocent people to their heart’s content. 

A law and order response that pursues heavy-handed punishments for criminals and keeps these degenerates off the streets is the antidote for this festering problem.
