In a move that should surprise no one, Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) is joining the Democrats and a handful of “Never-Trump” Republicans in offering her support of a second impeachment of President Donald J. Trump according to a statement released by her office:

“A violent mob attacked the United States Capitol to obstruct the process of our democracy and stop the counting of presidential electoral votes,” the third most powerful Republican member of the House of Representatives said in a statement Tuesday. “The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack. Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President.”

The daughter of notorious warmonger former Vice President Dick Cheney went on to say that Trump did not intervene to stop the violence, noting that there “has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution.”

The House Republican Conference Chair is the most prominent Republican member of the House to publicly back the betrayal of the President so far.
Representative Cheney has been at odds with President Trump’s America First agenda for most of the last four years, particularly the President’s desire to finally end American military involvement in Afghanistan and Iraq.

In June President Trump tweeted this about Cheney:

“Liz Cheney is only upset because I have been actively getting our great and beautiful Country out of the ridiculous and costly Endless Wars. I am also making our so-called allies pay tens of billions of dollars in delinquent military costs.”
