Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar Calls for Immigration Moratorium

On July 17, 2021, Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar tweeted in support of a 10-year moratorium on all immigration.

In his tweet, he stated, “I am urging a 10 year moratorium on all immigration. The situation is out of control. We are on par to for 2 million illegal aliens in 2021. Illegals keep wages low for citizens. No one voted for open borders, low wages and an inability to afford to live in our own country.”

Since he was elected to Congress in 2010 as the representative of Arizona’s 4th congressional district, Gosar has had an impeccable track record as an immigration patriot. For example, Numbers USA, one of the leading pro-immigration restriction groups in the nation, gave him an A+ rating for his steadfast support of immigration patriotism.

On a prior occasion, Gosar joined Marjorie Taylor Greene in co-sponsoring the Protect America First Act, which featured a four-year moratorium. An immigration moratorium is long overdue.

The last time the US had an immigration moratorium was in the mid-1920s, which stood in effect until 1965. This move was made to help facilitate the assimilation of migrants who came during the 1880 to 1914 migration wave (roughly 20 million). A similar measure will be needed to assimilate the 50+ million migrants who have come to the US since the passage of the 1965 Hart-Cellar Act.

This will be a tall task but thankfully there are elected officials like Paul Gosar who are willing to step up to the plate and push for patriotic immigration reform.
