Avenatti Says He’s ‘Scared’ Of Going To Prison

Anti-President Trump lawyer Michael Avenatti said that he is “scared” of going to prison after he was charged with four counts of extortion and conspiracy for allegedly trying to shake down the Nike corporation for money in one of his publicity stunt advocacy efforts. Avenatti gained fame on CNN representing porn star Stormy Daniels in her failed effort to sink President Trump.

Avenatti was once touted in the media as a Democrat presidential contender. Presumably, those days are over.

“Well, of course I’m nervous,” Avenatti said in an interview that aired Wednesday on CBS This Morning. “I am nervous. I’m concerned. I’m scared. I feel terrible for my family…But sure, I’m nervous. I’m scared. I’m all of those things and if I wasn’t, it wouldn’t make a lot of sense.
