Biden Expected to Release Rule on Ghost Guns in Days

According to sources, Biden is expected to release a new rule on ghost guns as soon as Monday.

This rule stems from the White House and Justice Department wanting to crack down on the nation’s rise of violent crime and gun deaths.

Even though many Americans do not see the correlation between this crime spike and ghost guns.

For those unaware, ghost guns are firearms that are assembled from kits or parts without serial numbers, making them difficult to track.

Biden argues that this has become a major issue in recent years as more and more people have been assembling their own firearms at home.

This new rule on ghost guns is expected to require that all gun manufacturers include serial numbers on all firearm parts.

According to Justice Department statistics, ghost guns were used in over half of the murders in Philadelphia last year. And Biden is hoping that by requiring serial numbers on all gun parts, it will make it easier for law enforcement to track these firearms and hopefully prevent them from being used in future crimes.

Other statistics show that nearly 24,000 ghost guns were recovered by law enforcement at crime scenes and reported to the government between 2016 and 2020.

Of course, gun control rules like these come as Biden faces pressure from gun control advocates and organizations such as ‘Moms Demand Action’.

“We’re encouraged by the Biden administration’s focus on gun violence prevention and we look forward to learning more about the president’s plans,” said Shannon Watts, founder of ‘Moms Demand Action’. “It’s past time for our country to adopt common-sense gun laws that will save lives.”

Any new gun control rules and efforts are met with heavy criticism from 2A supports like the NRA because Biden has notably made gun reform a key priority for his administration ever since he was elected president.

In addition to the rule on ghost guns, Biden is also expected to unveil other executive actions on guns later this week, including background checks and the introduction of “red flag” laws.

These laws would allow law enforcement or family members to petition a judge to temporarily remove guns from people who may be a danger to themselves or others.

Biden’s actions come as gun violence in the U.S. continues to rise. There have been more than 30 mass shootings so far this year, according to Gun Violence Archive.

And as expected, Democrats are willing to use these tragedies to expand their agenda.

In the wake of yet another mass shooting in Boulder, Colorado, Biden called on Congress to pass stricter gun laws, including universal background checks and a ban on assault weapons.

“I don’t need to wait another minute, let alone an hour, to take common-sense steps that will save lives in the future,” Biden said.

One thing is for certain, through all this, gun sales are only going to continue to increase with every new rule set forth from the Biden administration.
