Biden Press Sec. On Illegal Immigration: ‘It’s Not Like Somebody Walks Over’

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre drew attention Monday after she scoffed at the notion that unvaccinated aliens are able to enter the United States illegally and said, “It’s not like somebody walks over.”

“Somebody unvaccinated comes over on a plane, you say that’s not okay,” Fox News’ Peter Doocy said during an exchange with Jean-Pierre. “Somebody walks into Texas or Arizona unvaccinated, they’re allowed to stay. Why?”

“But that’s now how it works,” began Jean-Pierre, before she then said, “it’s not like somebody walks over and…that’s not how…”

“That’s exactly what’s happening!” Doocy interjected.

Doocy, who was correct in his assertion that many aliens enter the United States enter the country illegally by crossing the border, then claimed that “thousands of people are walking in a day,” and that “tens of thousands a week” are not caught in the act.

Such claims of uncontrolled illegal immigration have not been made by Doocy alone. According to a new report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), nearly 4.9 million illegal alienshave crossed the United States border since Joe Biden assumed office. This estimation includes a reported nationwide total of 3.9 million aliens recorded by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, as well as about 900,000 ‘gotaways’ who escaped arrest and remain in the country.

FAIR president Dan Stein weighed in on the matter, announcing in a press release that the amount of illegal aliens who have entered the United States in the past 18 months is enough to fill a whole country.

“Roughly the equivalent of the entire population of Ireland has illegally entered the United States in the 18 months President Biden has been in office, with many being released into American communities,” Stein said.

Stein also suggested that the Biden administration is responsible for the unprecedented situation.

“In that time, the Biden administration has blamed an unprecedented surge of illegal immigration on all sorts of external factors, except their own sabotage of our nation’s immigration laws,” he claimed. “The endless flow of illegal aliens and the incursion of lethal narcotics pouring across our border will not end until this administration demonstrates a willingness to enforce our laws.”

Another person who has offered harsh criticism for the Biden administration was Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz, who argued that its actions pertaining to illegal immigration have only worsened the crisis.

“In my experience, we have seen increases when there are no consequences,” Ortiz said during a court deposition.
