Biden Regime Considers New Move To Further Undermine American Energy Independence
The Biden regime has been violently successful at delivering one brain fart after another to the American people and the world in general. From the military quagmire that was the Afghanistan withdrawal to the migrant crisis at the porous southern border to literally farting audibly at Cop26, Biden and his handlers seem almost giddy at the prospect of continuing to drag America’s name through the dirt and her people into poverty. More recently, the Biden regime seems open to undermining American energy security in the name of political correctness.
According to Breitbart News, in spite of the Energy Secretary’s concession that she will not be able to promise gasoline prices won’t exceed $4 a gallon this coming winter, the regime is seriously considering a request made by a dozen federally recognized Siberian American tribes to cancel the Line 5 pipeline that goes through Michigan from Canada and is owned by Enbridge. What has caused some to consider this an even more egregious encroachment than canceling the Keystone Pipeline is the fact that the Line 5 pipeline has been in operation for 78 years and counting.
Indeed, Michigan Governor and regional medical tyrant Gretchen Whitmer appears to have already rescinded the easement granted to the Line 5 pipeline, which would entail a cessation of operations within Michigan by the following spring, according to Detroit Metro Times.
The tribes in question sent a request letter to the Biden regime on Friday to implore the child-sniffer-in-chief to make good on his many political odes to every conceivable demographic on the oppression totem pole. The letter considered the Line 5 pipeline to be an “existential threat to our treaty-protected rights, resources, and fundamental way of life.”, leaving a considerable deal of ambiguity as to what constitutes said fundamental way of life.
In response to concerns that gasoline prices might create an even bigger pinch to American families struggling to make ends meet, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm attempted to assure the public that “The president is all over this. Of course, every president is frustrated because they can’t control the price of gasoline, because it’s a global market. You can call upon increased supply, which he has done,”, completely forgetting that a simple resurrection of the crude oil export ban would go a long way towards mitigating pump prices at home.
As of the 8th of November 2021, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in the United States is estimated to be $3.422, up from $2.379 during the week leading up to January 20th of this year.
