Biden Regime Halts Approval of LNG Exports in Response to Texas’ Border Security Measures

Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham asserted that President Joe Biden’s recent decision to halt the approval of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports appears to be “more like retaliation than a sound policy decision.” Biden’s move came a day after “Texas took a bold stand in defending our border against foreign invaders,” the commissioner continued.
On January 26, President Biden announced that he was imposing a “temporary pause on pending decisions of Liquified Natural Gas exports.” On top of that, January 26 was the Department of Homeland Security deadline sent in a letter to the State of Texas asking for access to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas. This far, the Texas government has not relented on opening up the park to the feds earlier in January.
“Texas is the largest exporter of natural gas in the nation and the third in the world,” Commissioner Buckingham said to Breitbart Texas. “This reckless federal decision made merely a day after Texas took a bold stand in defending our border against foreign invaders appears more like retaliation than a sound policy decision.”
Buckingham serves as commissioner of the Texas General Land Office, which presides over 13 million acres of land laden with mineral deposits. Severance taxes from production rights are exploited by the Texas government to finance education.
“I will always defend Texas’ right to energy independence and stand up for the hardworking families and countless Texas schoolchildren this move will harm,” the commissioner remarked.
Buckingham called attention to how Texas is the largest exporter of natural gas in the United States and is in third place on the world stage. Energy is a critical component of the Texas economy.
The Biden regime represents the pettiest form of tyranny. It understands full well that LNG exports are critical for the functionality of the Texas economy.
However, the Biden regime’s radical open borders agenda takes precedence over law & order and critical economic questions. That’s how things operate in the post-national polity that is Clown World USA.
This is just another reason why Joe Biden must be relieved of the burden holding higher office.
