Biden Regime Released Criminal Migrant Charged With Human Smuggling Close to Canada-Vermont Border

Earlier in November, Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a Colombian national in Vermont for allegedly smuggling several Mexican migrants across the border with Canada. The Colombian national illegally entered the United States in Texas over a year ago . The Biden regime released the criminal alien on immigration parole.
“What’s happening along our southern border affects our northern border as well,” Swanton Sector Chief Patrol Agent Robert Garcia declared in a post on X. “Border security is national security.”
A Beecher Falls Border Patrol Station agent who was patrolling the Canadian border in Vermont caught a Honda Accord driving in a sketchy manner around an area known for human smuggling activity, per a court document obtained by Breitbart Texas.
The agent recounted that the driver tried to hide his face as he was driving by. On top of that, the agent noted that there were three additional passengers in the back seat and no one sitting in the front passenger seat. The agent would subsequently carry out a vehicle stop that would result in an immigration interview.
The agent was able to identify the driver as David Henao-Palacio, a 28-year-old Colombian national. Henao-Palacio had on him a New Jersey driver’s license.
The agent tried to interview the other passengers — two adult males and an adult female. However, the driver told the passengers to not speak. Per the criminal complaint, the passengers appeared to be nervous.
The agent then instructed the driver and passengers to get out of the card and sit down alongside the road. As he verified their status with Swanton Sector dispatch, the three passengers escaped into the woods. The agent then handcuffed Henao-Palacio and sent him over to an additional agent who came on to the scene.
The agent was able to find the fleeing suspects deep into the woods. The agents ended up taking all three of them into custody. The individuals had migration documents on them, which the agent used to identify them as three Mexican nationals who illegally went across the border from Canada into Vermont.
According to a background check, Henao-Palacio was discovered to have entered the US by illegally crossing the border from Mexico close to Hidalgo, Texas, on August 31, 2022, per the criminal complaint. After he was processed in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, officials “paroled” Henao-Palacio into the US. He was summoned to an ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations office on November 2, 2022. From there, he was instructed to appear in front of an immigration court on August 23, 2024.
The Colombian national is currently facing charges of human smuggling. If he is convicted, he could potentially spend five years in federal prison and be deported from the US.
The Swanton Sector has continued to witness a significant surge in migrant apprehensions, according to reports from Breitbart Texas. Agents in the sector that spans the Canadian border in eastern New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire apprehended over 1,000 migrants in the first month of Fiscal Year 2024.
This marks a 200% increase over the figures of October 2022 and is roughly equal to the total number of apprehensions recorded for the entire Fiscal Year 2022.
All facets of the US’s lax immigration policy are exposed here. Most people don’t talk about the US’s northern border with Canada, but this area has its fair share of blindspots. The fact is that the Biden regime has no interest in maintaining any semblance of security there.
Biden and his Democrat colleagues want to maintain the Great Replacement agenda at all costs so that their one-party state vision can be consummated in the long-term.
