Bobby Scott Calls For Immediate Investigation Into Fairfax Allegation He Knew About For More Than A Year

Bobby Scott, the Democrat congressman from Virginia, recently called for the two sex assault allegations against lieutenant governor Justin Fairfax to be investigated “immediately.” Scott made his call two days after some bombshell news came out: Scott knew about a “MeToo” allegation against Fairfax, courtesy of a text that Dr. Vanessa Tyson sent to Scott in 2017.
The recent allegations against Lt Governor Fairfax are disturbing and extremely serious. Both allegations must be investigated immediately. If either is found to be true – and there appears to be significant corroborating evidence – then the Lt Governor should resign immediately.

Democrat Virginia Congressman Bobby Scott’s year-long knowledge of and inaction toward the sexual assault allegation levied against Democrat Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax is the latest development since Big League Politics broke the story on Sunday.
Aides for Scott admitted Wednesday to having knowledge of Fairfax’s sexual assault allegation since October 17, 2017, when the accuser Vanessa Tyson, a Stanford Fellow and Scripps University professor, made Scott’s team aware of the alleged incident. Tyson attempted to explain the allegation to Scott again in a text message sent in December of 2017.
In a Nov. 29 email, Tyson expressed her dislike for Fairfax and wrote that she would like to “talk about it,” with Congressman Scott.
Aides to Scott maintain that he was not made aware at that point about an alleged sexual assault in 2004 involving Fairfax.
In a text message exchange between Scott and Tyson in December 2017, she informed him that the now-Lieutenant Governor-Elect had a “MeToo allegation,” but at the time the congressman did not know that she was the accuser, according to aides.
In a statement to ABC News, Scott claimed on Wednesday that he has “known Professor Tyson for approximately a decade and she is a friend.”
This latest bombshell comes out only hours after the National Organization for Women (NOW) demanded Fairfax immediately resign to remove himself from the line of succession should besieged Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, who last week endorsed infanticide before Big League Politics uncovered wildly racist photos from his medical school yearbook, heed many Democrats’ and Republicans’ call for his resignation.
The National Organization for Women is calling for Virginia Lt. Governor Justin Fairfax to resign amid allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in 2004.
After Big League Politics broke the news of Fairfax’s sexual assault allegation, in which University Fellow and Professor Vanessa Tyson accused him of sexually assaulting her during the Democratic National Convention in 2004, Fairfax proceeded to smear her for her story and attack her character. This led the National Organization for Women (NOW) to demand his immediate resignation.
This revelation also comes as the third in the line of succession for the governorship, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring faces his own controversy over past racism, having admitted to wearing blackface to sing a rap song during a 1980 college party.
Herring resigned today from his position as co-chair of the Democratic Attorneys General Association.

Minnesota Had Record Numbers of Concealed Carry Licenses Issued in 2020
Red or blue, Americans nationwide are getting strapped.

Gun sales have boomed all across America. And it’s not just the Red states. Blue states like Minnesota have also witnessed an increase in the number of concealed carry permits issued.
According to Valley News Live, over 96,000 permits were issued in 2020, which represented the highest number of permits issued since carry permits became legal in 2003. Furthermore, 2020’s numbers represented a twofold increase from 2019 in the number of permits issued.
Tom Knighton of Bearing Arms noted that roughly “400,000 permits have been issued in total in a state of just over 5.6 million people.”
The Valley News Live piece actually conceded that the increase in permits issued was largely the result of a “ rise in violent crime in the Twin Cities and the civil unrest that followed the death of George Floyd.”
Minneapolis was the epicenter of social unrest after the death of George Floyd in late May 2020. With calls to defund the police and irresponsible political leadership that refused to decisively crack down on crime, Minnesotans began to take matters into their own hands.
Gun owners are ultimately the most effective first responders in times of crisis and overall breakdowns of social order. Minnesota’s gun laws are actually quite strict, which has earned it dismal rankings in Guns & Ammo magazine’s rankings for Best States for Gun Owners (39th place) and Best States for Concealed Carry (37th place). Regardless of the sub-optimal gun policies, Minnesotans still instinctively understand the importance of the right to carry.
2020 was a big year for gun sales and showed that the right to bear arms still has a massive constituency of people that can be targeted and activated for future occasions. Serious Republican campaigns should recognize this trend and make targeting gun owners a major priority throughout their get out the vote programs.
