BREAKING: David Horowitz Banned From Twitter in Latest Purge

David Horowits Banned Twitter

David Horowitz, the 80-year-old conservative writer and founder of the Dave Horrowitz Freedom Center, was banned from Twitter this evening with no explanation from the big tech platform.

Twitter has been in the midst of a purge over the past 24 hours, banning multiple parody accounts and an account that chronicled instances of violence against supporters of President Donald J. Trump last night.

Tonight they continued their censorship spree by banning Horowitz, who is widely respected as an intellectual on both sides of the aisle.

Horowitz is a conservative writer and commentator who has written dozens of books, including “Dark Agenda: The War to Destroy Christian America”, “Progressive Racism”, and “The Big Agenda: President Trump’s Plan to Save America”.

Big League Politics reached out a Twitter for a comment and did not receive a response in time for publication.

Last night, Twitter banned a popular parody account mocking Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and seemed to cite its parody nature as the reason, even though the account followed its rules by identifying itself as a parody in both its name and bio.

Big League Politics reported:

The @AOCpress account was run by Twitter user @OfficeOfMike, who was also banned, and posted over-the-top and highly satirical tweets parodying the policies and beliefs of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. It clearly marked itself as a parody both in the name of the account, and in the account’s bio area, with the sentence “I’m the boss… you mad bro? (parody)”.

This type of self identification as a parody account would seem to be precisely what Twitter requires for such an account to exist on its platform.

According to the rules Twitter sent to the @AOCpress account’s email address, which the big tech platform claims the account broke.

This latest purge comes as Facebook is outed for employing a former Hillary Clinton campaign press contact who also worked in the Obama White House to inform the media about its decision to ban Alex Jones, Paul Joseph Watson, Laura Loomer, and Milo Yiannopoulos.

UPDATE:

After a massive conservative backlash, it appears Twitter has reinstated Horowitz’s account, though it has not restored his Twitter followers. He went from having over 60,000 followers to roughly 300 at the time of publication.
