BREAKING: Elon Musk Discusses Going ‘To War’ With Apple Over App Store Censorship Threats
Twitter CEO Elon Musk just announced he is going to war with Apple over threats of having his platform removed from the App store.
According to the billionaire, Apple has made these threats without giving a reason why. Which has many users online speculating that it solely has to do with Musk’s control over Twitter.
Musk also announced that Apple puts a 30% “secret” tax on everything bought through the app store.

Through other tweets and replies, Musk has shed some light into the behind-the-scenes threats from Apple.
“Is Apple threatening Twitter’s presence in the App Store or otherwise making moderation demands?” asked Jake Kastrenakes on Twitter.
“Yes,” Musk replied.
The CEO also publicly asked why Apple has “mostly stopped advertising on Twitter” and “who else” has Apple censored from its App store in the past.

As one user pointed out, 97.5% of Apple’s donations are to the Democratic Party.
“Wow, they don’t sound biased at all!” Musk said in response to the tweet.
Hey @tim_cook, if you make Americans choose between free speech and Apple, you might be surprised how many of us choose free speech. https://t.co/xPNIgo16bF

From The Verge:
Twitter has long tested the boundaries of Apple’s App Store moderation — which has successfully pushed Discord, Tumblr, and other services to either hide potentially offensive content (typically adult content) or ban it altogether. Twitter remains one of the only large platforms to still allow adult content on its app, and a recent editorial by former Twitter executive Yoel Roth revealed that it’s sparred periodically with Apple over content like racial slurs and the hashtag #boobs.
If Musk’s statement is accurate, “withhold” could mean temporarily rejecting an update to the Twitter app or could involve a more serious threat to boot Twitter from the iOS App Store — a devastating potential outcome for Twitter.
While this story develops, it’s worth noting that Musk posted a meme somewhat showcasing his willingness to go to “war” with Apple over its control over what can and cannot be displayed in the App store.
