BREAKING: Rod Rosenstein Verbally Resigned But Will Speak With Trump Thursday
An embattled high level DOJ official has resigned after a damning New York Times report detailed him plotting to oust President Donald J. Trump.
“Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has verbally resigned to Chief of Staff John Kelly in anticipation of being fired by President Trump, according to a source with direct knowledge,” according to Axios.
He was expecting to be fired, said the report. He was overseeing the Russian “collusion” investigation into Trump.
Rosenstein was exposed Friday for “suggest[ing] last year that he secretly record President Trump in the White House to expose the chaos consuming the administration, and discuss[ing] recruiting cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove Mr. Trump from office for being unfit.”
